Hey, big news on the music scene! Our very own Nigerian superstars are owning the Grammy nominations. Davido, Burna Boy, Asake, Olamide, and Ayra Starr – Tinubu special adviser congratulates Nigerian Music Icons in the Grammy nominations, thus a merit to them for making it to the award list!

These incredible artists landed nominations in the first-ever Best African Music Performance category in the 66th Grammy nominations, which just dropped on November 10, 2023. Burna Boy is really rocking the nominations, scoring three more nods in categories like Best Global Music Album, Best Global Music Performance, and Best Melodic Rap Performance.

And guess what? Davido snagged two more nominations himself – Best Global Music Album and Best Global Music Performance.

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, shared the good news. He took to social media to send out the congratulatory vibes, shouting out our Nigerian artists and their nominations for the 66th Grammy Awards, happening on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

But the Grammy fever didn’t stop there! Tems got another Grammy nod for co-writing Rihanna’s ‘Lift Me Up’ from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” nominated in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category.

Also, Fireboy DML got his first Grammy nomination for his feature on Jón Batiste’s ‘World Music Radio,’ which got nominated for Album of the Year.

As the special adviser congratulates Nigerian music icons can we take a moment for CKay and Seun Kuti too? These amazing artists secured nominations for their contributions to Janelle Monae’s ‘Age of Pleasure,’ nominated in the Album of the Year category.
